MID-YEAR LABOUR LAW UPDATE (MYLLU) – PERSONAL INVITATION

I would personally like to invite you to attend the MYLLU which is one of our flagship programmes which sees more than 800 delegates attending nationally each year.

This year’s session is particularly important given that more than 12 labour laws have been amended over the past 6 months or are currently being amended. These include the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, BBBEE Codes, UIF Act, NMW Act, Labour Laws Amendment Act, Employment Tax Incentive, Employment Services Regulations, BCE Act and COIDA.

In addition, we have had a number of landmark judgements from the Labour and Constitutional Court that require understanding, interpretation and application back at the workplace. These include:

  • Rights of political parties in workplace matters
  • Cannabis
  • Equal treatment and equal pay
  • TES and fixed-term contract management
  • Sexual harassment and vicarious liability
  • Retrenchments and changing terms of employment
  • Deeming permanent vs indefinite.

 Johnny Goldberg is the NEDLAC Labour Market Chamber convenor for business and holds other key roles including being a Commissioner on the National Minimum Wage Commission. He interacts with the other social partners (labour, government and community) at a high level regularly as well as consults across all industries and sectors. He will share his expertise with you in this “must attend” session.
