With Prof (em) Dr Manfred Weiss and Prof Simon Deakin – Session facilitated by Professor Paul Benjamin Prof (em) Dr Manfred Weiss was an ILO consultant/technical expert to South Africa in 1994, during the negotiations and drafting of Labour Relations Act, and professor for labour law and civil law at the Law School of the University in Hamburg (1977 – 2008) at the Law School of the Goethe University in Frankfurt. Prof Simon Deakin has published extensively in the field of labour law and labour market regulation and has presented his research in South Africa on a number of occasions. He is a Professor of Law at the University of Cambridge, specialising in labour law, private law, company law and EU law.
